In 2011, Brave Kid was founded as a subsidiary of OTB Group that specializes in the product development, production, and distribution of licensed premium children's clothing and accessories. Then, the company acquired French luxury fashion house Maison Margiela in 2002 and Dutch luxury fashion house Viktor & Rolf in 2008.

The unforgettable popcorn gun, too, was no mere prop - it could fire real popcorn and cost thousands of dollars to construct. The creepy alien clowns had such a memorable screen presence through a highly complex system involving mechanical cables that controlled and changed the facial expressions of each large and detailed mask. Even further, the legendary punk band The Dickies wrote the main theme song, instantly allowing the movie to transcend a mere visual experience and take root in underground music culture - a hallmark of a good cult movie. The score was an eerie mixture of sinister circus music and all the trappings of a stellar 1980s horror synth score. Though technically a B-movie at release, there was nothing second-tier about the sights and sounds of Killer Klowns from Outer Space.
